When There’s No Way Out

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5.

A tiny bit of faith reveals God’s eternal trustworthiness.

God’s plans are trustworthy, even when yours are not.

You can TRUST that God will have the last word.

Question: Are you in a place where you believe there is no way out? Do you feel hopeless?

Now Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons because Joseph was a son born to him in his old age, and he made a long-sleeved robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not bring themselves to speak peaceably to him. Genesis 37:3–4.

He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: There we were, binding sheaves of grain in the field. Suddenly my sheaf stood up, and your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf.” Genesis 37:5–7.

They saw him in the distance, and before he had reached them, they plotted to kill him. 19 They said to one another, “Oh, look, here comes that dream expert! Genesis 37:18–19.

2 The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master. Genesis 39:2.

6 He left all that he owned under Joseph’s authority; he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Genesis 39:6.

Now Joseph was well-built and handsome. 7 After some time his master’s wife looked longingly at Joseph and said, “Sleep with me.” Genesis 39:6–7.

So how could I do this immense evil, and how could I sin against God?” Genesis 39:9.

But the Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him. He granted him favor with the prison warden Genesis 39:21.
15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said to one another, “If Joseph is holding a grudge against us, he will certainly repay us for all the suffering we caused him.” Genesis 50:15.

You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people. 21 Therefore don’t be afraid. I will take care of you and your children.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:20–21.

Forgiveness is greater than vengeance
Kindness is stronger than cruelty
Love is stronger than hate.

What the enemy meant for evil, God turned it for Good.

Question: Have you experienced crisis and challenge and found that God used it to do something good you never expected? Do you wonder if God could even use this current challenge for Good?

The Way Out

Remember the God who loves you
No one in this house is greater than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. So how could I do this immense evil, and how could I sin against God?” Genesis 39:9.

Speak God’s word
It gives you light in the darkness.
Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. Ps 119:105.
It nourishes you when you are weak.
He answered, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”, Matthew 4:4.
Embrace the challenges, because God is at work in you.
… we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope will not disappoint us, …Romans 5:3–5.

Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. Proverbs 16:1.

II am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6.

You can TRUST that God will have the last word.
Reflection
Today, I trust You Jesus, to have the last word in my life.
