When It Seems Like There’s No Future

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5.

A tiny bit of faith reveals God’s eternal trustworthiness.

Questions: What do you have faith in? if anything? Why do you have faith in that?

The Lord said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. Genesis 12:1

I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you., Genesis 12:2–3.
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him. Genesis 12:4
The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring, I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him. Genesis 12:7
Please say you’re my sister so it will go well for me because of you, and my life will be spared on your account.” Genesis 12:13
God’s promises can be trusted not because of our performance, but because of His character.
He took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “Your offspring will be that numerous.” Ge 15:5.

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15:6.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, “I am God Almighty. Live in my presence and be blameless. I will set up my covenant between me and you, and I will multiply you greatly.”
Genesis 17:1–2

Your name will no longer be Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I will make you the father of many nations. Genesis 17:5

Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Genesis 21:5.

“Take your son,” he said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.” Genesis 22:2
Isaac said, “The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” 8 Abraham answered, “God himself will provide, the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” Then the two of them walked on together. Genesis 22:7-8

But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He replied, “Here I am.” Then he said, “Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.” Genesis 22:11–12.

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He received the promises and yet he was offering his one and only son, the one to whom it had been said, Your offspring will be traced through Isaac., 19 He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead; therefore, he received him back, figuratively speaking. Hebrews 11:17–19.

Question: Have you seen God show up in your life? Have you looked for him to show up?

Grow in Faith
Start with a little
… “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”, Matthew 17:20.
Remember God’s Faithfulness
4 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. 5 Remember the wondrous works he has done, his wonders, and the judgments he has pronounced,, Psalms 105:4–5.
Focus on God’s Promises
When we sin, we confess and he is faithful to forgive.
He will meet our needs according to the riches of his mercy
He will never leave you
He will go before you.
There is no place on earth you will set foot that He has not already been there,
He will never leave or abandon you.
God will work in and through all who believe in God and are called to His purpose.
When you place your trust in Jesus and make him the lord of your life – you will have a real life now and forever… forever… there is something better and wonderful at the end of all… this.
And God will complete his work in you, making you completely whole and complete.
