The Vow of Pursuit

I promise that God will be my first priority and my spouse will be my second.
I vow to always pursue my “two.”
Question: If you are married, what did you do to pursue your spouse? If you are not married, what do you do to pursue God?
This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24
Bond= abide fast, follow close after, be joined together
Follow Close after
Because you are my helper; I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings. I will follow close to you; your right hand holds on to me. Psalm 63:7
Boat asked his young servant who was foreman over the farm hands, “who is this young woman? Where did she come from?” Ruth 2:5 The Message
Then Boaz spoke to Ruth, “Listen, my daughter, From now on don’t go to any other field to glean – stay right here in his one… Ruth 2:8 The Message
He said, “do bless you, my dear daughter! What a splendid expression of love! And when you could have had your pick of any of the young men around. And now, my dear daughter, don’t worry about a thing: I’ll do all your could want or ask. Everybody in town knows what a courageous woman you are – a real prize! Ruthie 3:10-11 The Message
Naomi said, “sit back and relax, my dear daughter, until we find out how things turn out; that man isn’t going to fool around. Mark my words, he[s going to get everything wrapped up today.” Ruth 3:18
We are to follow close hard after the ones we love, according to our priorities.
You are worth pursuing.
I vow to pursue my “two.”
Question: Do you believe that you are worth pursuing? Do you make an effort to pursue your spouse?
Close the gap between intentions and actions.
When you think of something good, say it!
But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. Hebrews 3:13
Husbands, pursue her with words of affection.
Wives, pursue him with words of encouragement.
When you think of something special, do it!
SO it is a sin to know the good and yet not do it. James 4:17
Finally, when you want something different, be it!
To get something you never had, you will have to do something different
To something you once had, you will have to do what you once did.
I vow to make God my first priority and my spouse my second.
I vow to always pursue my “two.”
