The Root Of All Evil

Prayer is not about getting what I want. Prayer is about getting to know God.
Wise judgment promotes life, not devalues it.
The good news isn’t that God saves us from our trials, it’s that he saves us from our sins.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
1 Timothy 6:10
We are blessed to bless others.
Question: What is your take on wealth? Do you think that their wealth is a sign of greed? Or, do you think that it is possible to be both wealthy and good?
“No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24
The one who loves silver is never satisfied with silver, and whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with income. This too is futile. Ecclesiastes 5:10
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out. 1 Timothy 6:6–7
Discontent makes rich people poor.
Contentment makes the poor rich.
Question: Do you find yourself thinking that with “a little more money” everything will be ok? How much money would really be enough?
Contentment through Godliness.
Rest Assured in God's Promises
I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 6:9–10
2. Trust in God’s Plan.
I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:12–14
3. Determine to live for God’s Purpose
Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share, storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life. 1 Timothy 6:17–19
Money promises what only God can provide.
We are blessed to bless others.
