The Power Of Gathering

Jesus responded, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Matthew 16:17–18.

About the church:
In Jesus, God has initiated a movement that is the church.
The Church is the assembly of believers in Jesus.
The church is on the move.
The goal of Journey Group Life is to draw closer to God and each other as we cultivate Community, Transformation and Multiplication.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20.

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper corresponding to him.” Genesis 2:18.

We are made for community, so let us build community.  

Question: Is there a community of believers that you belong to? A church? A small group?

Friends gather, Proximity is the first step to presence.

Be intentional.
Take relational risks.
Understand before you are understood
Learn about others as they learn about you.
The wounds of a friend are trustworthy, but the kisses of an enemy are excessive. Proverbs 27:6

In community you can find friends who
Can make you better
Help you find spiritual strength
And tell you the truth.

“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34–35
We were made for community.
