The Effect of Grace

At The Journey Church, we must foster generous hearts.
Generous hearts are more blessed.
Trust God with your life and find Peace.

Let Grace have its effect.

Question: What does the term “Grace” mean to you? Why do you think it is so important in Christianity?

Grace is poured out to overflowing in Jesus.

But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

What is God’s Grace?
God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense

he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” Acts 9:3-4

God’s Grace reveals his Generous heart.
26 When he arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, since they did not believe he was a disciple. Acts 9:26

Barnabas, however, took him and brought him to the apostles and explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that the Lord had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus Acts 9:27
Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement), 37 sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. Acts 4:36-37

Encouragement and Generosity are the OVERFLOW of of God’s Grace poured out in us.

Question:
Have you experienced the kind of Grace that changed your life? If you received such grace – what would happen?

Let Grace have its effect
First, Receive Grace.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

To encourage others.
23 When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts, 24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And large numbers of people were added to the Lord. Acts 11:22-24

To be generous
7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

The beauty of our allowing Grace to overflow – is that we live out being generous and encouraging.

Let Grace have its’ effect.

Reflection
Have you received the free gift of Grace from God by receiving Jesus as the Lord of your life?
Who will you encourage today, that God’s Grace may be seen in you?
