In The Valley
See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.” Matthew 1:23
God is With Us in the valleys.
Question: Have you had a mountaintop experience that was followed by a time in the “valley?” Are you in one now? What gets you though?
We enjoy God on the mountain, but we grow close to Him in the valley.
Happy are the people whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a source of spring water; even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings., They go from strength to strength; each appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84:5-7
Apprentice followers of Jesus have a strength that is greater than what is seen.
What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Psalm 84:5 NLT
Question: What is most often your mindset in the valley? Does how you feel affect how you see your future?
When You’re in the Valley
Set your heart on God.
Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
When your heart is fixed on God, the valley is not your destination!
The Holy Spirit guides us to a place of peace the Father has made for us.
Dig a well.
“As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs;” Psalm 84:6
God says
“If you prepare for me, I will show up."
“take your little bit of faith, and I will show you my faithfulness.”
You are more likely to experience God in the quiet than in a rush.
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.
Psalm 62:1 NLT
God is With Us in the valleys.
They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84:5-7
#Reflection/Prayer
Draw near to us God as we draw near to you.
We praise you God for who you are.
