God is With Us in the valleys.
In the wilderness your deepest need will become a gift when it drives you to depend on God.
Never allow the presence of a storm to cause you to doubt the presence of God.
Question: What storms have you faced in your life? Did you feel alone?
and told them, “Men, I can see that this voyage is headed toward disaster and heavy loss, not only of the cargo and the ship but also of our lives.” But the centurion paid attention to the captain and the owner of the ship rather than to what Paul said. Acts 27:10–11
For many days neither sun nor stars appeared, and the severe storm kept raging. Finally all hope was fading that we would be saved.
Acts 27:20
...“You men should have followed my advice not to sail from Crete and sustain this damage and loss. Now I urge you to take courage, because there will be no loss of any of your lives, but only of the ship.
Acts 27:21-22
For last night an angel of the God I belong to and serve stood by me and said ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. It is necessary for you to appear before Caesar. And indeed, God has graciously given you all those who are sailing with you.’ So take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me. But we have to run aground on some island.” Acts 27:24–26
Question: Have you ever been in a storm because you ignored clear signs? Is there someone in your life who offers you wise counsel? Do you listen to them?
Survive the Storm.
Receive counsel from wise people.
A fool’s way is right in his own eyes, but whoever listens to counsel is wise. Proverbs 12:15
Seek counsel from the LORD.
I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel. Psalm 32:8
Do not be like a horse or mule, without understanding, Psalm 32:9
Take Courage
Real peace is not found in the absence of trouble. Real peace is found in the presence of Jesus.
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Never allow the presence of a storm to cause you to doubt the presence of God.
