Finding Peace In Your Panic
You can find peace in the storm
Question: Where are you today? Do you see a storm coming? Are you in the middle of a storm? Have you just gotten out of one?
On that day, when evening had come, he told them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the sea.” Mark 4:35
There are some things that can only be learned in a storm.
He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re going to die?” Mark 4:38
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39
Your storm, no matter how bad, will NOT derail God’s purpose.
There will be storms.
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” John 16:33
Question: When storms come, is it harder or easier to see who is in the storm with you?
Things to Remember in the Storm
1. You’re in the storm with His presence.
The Who is more powerful than the What.
…because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
2. Second, You’re in the storm for His purpose.
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6–7
