Bold In The Face of Danger

May 25, 2025

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19–20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Jerusalem – their city Samaria – their region
The ends of the earth… their world.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment. 2 Timothy 1:7

Our Bold Journey begins with small steps of prayer and love.

Question: What do you think it means to be “bold?” Is it possible to be both bold and peaceful?

… On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria. Acts 8:1

But there were some of them, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord. Acts 11:19–21

And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised.
2 Corinthians 5:15

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:15–17

If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 12:18
But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good Romans 12:20–21

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:4–5

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers Acts 14:2, CSB

Question: What is something you really believe in? What cause? How do you share your commitment to that cause?

Small Steps of Boldness

Small Prayers
In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings Romans 8:26

Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you might be healed. James 5:16

Prayers draws YOU and OTHERS to Jesus. You. You all. All Y’all.

Little Acts of Love.
And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42

We love because He loves us.

“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40
