Mercy is Crucial.

Question: Has there been a time in your life when you desperately needed relief? Who or what did you do? Was there someone or something to turn to?

Then he began to teach them, saying: 
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.  
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:2-6

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 
Matthew 5:7

But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29

“The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him, “Go and do the same.” Luke 10:37

Question: have you ever been in the place as someone who could provide relief? Have you ever been in the place of one who could give mercy? What did you do? 

What is Mercy?

1. Mercy is generous!

A generous person will be enriched, and the one who gives a drink of water will receive water. Proverbs 11:25

2. Mercy is Real Love.*
And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

3. Mercy is the fruit of compassion.

4. Mercy is a command.**
 Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:36

Mercy is given in abundance, to give in abundance.

Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. Lamentations 3:22

God is full of Mercy.

Mercy is the act of Hope, Healing, and Wholeness.

Mercy is Crucial.
